Classy glamping surrounded by The Cotswolds
Perfectly located in the heart of the picturesque Severn Vale, The Glamping Orchard gets you back to nature but not back to basics. Longney is just five miles from historic Gloucester and a lovely short walk from the River Severn.
Combining peace and quiet of gorgeous orchards and beautiful countryside with close proximity to great pubs, market towns and Cotswolds villages, The Glamping Orchard is set on a family-run smallholding surrounded by farm animals and acres of space.
Sleep deeply, cook under the stars
You can expect a quiet getaway location with a real sense of home away from home staying in a 1950’s Caravan, The Warwick Knight, sleeping up to a family of 4, or alternatively try Belle, our cosy Bell Tent sleeping up to 2 adults. Whichever you choose you will enjoy a wonderful Glamping experience.
We love to extend a warm welcome to our guests. Our ethos is to help you to make your stay your own. Go for long walks, laze in the hammock, watch the wildlife, explore the nearby orchards and eat around the campfire or head into Gloucester or Cheltenham for a bit more of the urban experience.
And relax…
When you stay with us we provide you with an opportunity to relax and recharge in complete comfort. You can collect fresh eggs for your breakfast, experience local produce or simply go for a long walk foraging for berries down the country lanes.
Then what better way to end the day than toasting marshmallows by the open fire and enjoying a glass of wine as you watch the sun gently set across the rolling hills of the Forest of Dean.
The Warwick Knight
As soon as you meet our handsome Knight, you won’t want to leave. Whether you’re enjoying a sunny day on the iconic roof garden, or a cosy drink warmed by the wood burner, you’ll be hooked. By day, the Warwick Knight has plenty of living space to make yourselves at home; and by night it transforms into the cosy blanket to keep you warm.
Belle
Immerse yourself in a simpler way of living in your cosy Bell Tent. Sleeping under cotton canvas is a revitalising experience. Measuring 3 metres in height and 5 meters diameter they are no means small, offering a perfect space for a couples retreat or a plentiful space for a family or group of 5.
About Us
After a stint travelling and living in London, Ali still hankered for the countryside so returned home to her Gloucestershire roots where she met Rich in 2001.
They enjoyed life where Ali worked in the travel industry and Rich in agricultural engineering. They went on to have two children, Jasper and Monty. Definite country boys, Monty was able to ride bare back by 2 and Jasper’s first word was tractor and could name 10 types of tractor by the age he was 3.
They had the opportunity to develop their current home from scratch which was an exciting project and one where they lived in a caravan on site for 2 years. Whilst this at times was hard going, they were always grateful for their peaceful surroundings and stunning views. It was at this point the concept started to develop about The Glamping Orchard.
Animated Ali would make exciting big plans; Realistic Rich would then manage to discuss what could be achieved. They both wanted something intimate and completely relaxing- something their guests would come to and just feel at one with nature- it was about being able to come and switch off and kick back. With this aim, plus an appearance on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces in 2016 (check out their blog for more info on their TV debut), they settled on having the space for one caravan and one bell tent. They purchased the Warwick Knight and wow whilst it was clear it was going to be a labour of love to restore it… if anyone could do it this family could! Months of sawing, heaving, wrenching, sanding, painting, carving, fixing, blisters and plain old hard graft has resulted in a beautiful hand crafted one of a kind luxurious caravan. They also have the lovely Belle, a cosy bell tent to sleep in too…. so enough for 2 families or two sets of friends to recharge their batteries! And what once seemed like a pipe dream is now actually a reality. They keep pinching themselves as can’t quite believe it’s real! Come And see this place. You need to! It’s a little slice Of heaven!
